Privacy policy — Pochin (website and app)

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Who we are

Pochin Points and the Pochin app are run by Robert Pochin Limited (Pochin House, 2 Murrayfield Road, Leicester, LE3 1UW; company number 00179511), the "data controller" for your personal information.

Questions about this policy or your information: [email protected].

Face ID and fingerprint: your face or fingerprint data never leaves your phone and we never receive it. The app stores a sign-in key in your phone's secure storage (the iPhone Keychain or the Android Keystore), and Face ID or your fingerprint unlocks it.

We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics tools, and we don't sell your information.

If you were in the previous scheme

Before October 2026, Pochin Points ran on a platform operated by Love2shop Business Services. If you were a member, we moved your name, contact details, Pochin account code, branch, delivery addresses, points balance and order history across to this service, so your account carries on. We don't receive your old password; you sign in with an emailed link or code instead.

Our lawful bases

  • Contract: to run the points scheme you're a member of.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping accounts secure, preventing fraud, and keeping business and financial records.
  • Legal obligation: keeping accounting records.
  • Consent: app notifications. You can turn these off in the app or in your phone settings at any time.

Who we share it with

Only with the companies that help us provide the service, and only as much as they need:

  • Gift card suppliers:
    • Love2Shop (Park Retail Ltd) for Love2Shop cards and top-ups.
    • Simfoni for digital eGift cards.
    • Each receives order details, plus your name and delivery address for posted cards.
  • Amazon Web Services (SES), which sends our emails.
  • Apple and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging), which deliver app notifications on iPhone and Android.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Pochin runs the website, app service and database itself, on servers in the United Kingdom.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, points and order history while your account is open, and afterwards as business and financial records for 6 years. Sign-in sessions end after 90 days without use. Login links expire after 15 minutes.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from My details on the website, or from Account in the app. When you close your account:

  • Any points you have are lost.
  • You can no longer sign in.
  • Your sign-ins, passkeys, Face ID and fingerprint keys and notification devices are removed straight away.

We keep a record of your account and orders for the reasons above. To rejoin, contact your Pochin branch.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, and to have it corrected, deleted or restricted, or sent to you or to someone else. You also have the right to lodge a complaint about the way we treat your personal information. If you wish to lodge a complaint please email us at [email protected] setting out the nature of your complaint. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy in any way with how we treat your personal information. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to deal with your concerns before you approach the Information Commissioner's Office, so please contact us in the first instance.

Cookies and similar storage

The website uses only essential cookies and browser storage:

  • a sign-in cookie
  • your light or dark display setting
  • a note that you've seen the welcome animation
  • whether you've dismissed the passkey suggestion

There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
